This prayer is taught to us in scripture. Some wording changes depending on the version of the Bible that is read. (I.E. debts or Trespasses)
Jesus shared this with his disciples when asked how they should pray. It works for us too.
You don’t need a fancy or long prayer to be heard. You can just have a private conversation with God. Just talk with him.
But if you would like to start with The Lord’s Prayer, it is below. Or you may be like me. I will pray the Lord’s Prayer to center my thoughts and continue talking with God afterwards.
It is a prayer that is correct, regardless of the situation or the version.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
—Matthew 6:9-13 RSV
