Are you ready? Do you have a plan in hand?
THE reason for the season is our Lord and we will definitely stay close to him for some Peace and Love during the coming crazy, busy times ahead.
Thanksgiving is 2 days away. Have you made your menu? Prepared the turkey for thawing? Checked off your quest list? Hit the grocery store with that long list? Have you scheduled your time?

The Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season is often one of the highest stress times of the year. The season lasts a whole 30 days with 2 major events plus other parties, get togethers, planning and implementing church events, checking on everyone to make sure no one is alone (unless they want to be), shopping and lets not forget wrapping of gifts, figuring out the budget or do you leave that to the next next highly stressed time- January bill paying day or months.
I am right here with you. Feeling the excitement and stress of Thanksgiving. This year, the family celebration is at our house so the family menu is planned so everyone is bringing their specialties. The house is being prepped. I have pies to make, cranberry sauce to prepare (don’t worry I have the canned cranberry sauce too!), setting tables, but wait!
Christmas tasks are going on too. Heading to church to work this morning. We are preparing the weekly update, the Order of Service,(the church office is closed on Thanksgiving and the Friday after so everything has to be done now! Don’t worry We are always on call.), stuffing Christmas cards for the congregation and church friends, insuring everyone at congregation knows details on the Advent Activities that have been planned and are coming up, and much more.
The experts say, We need to focus on blocks of activities and not the whole 30 days. Now focus on the next two days, the day before and Thanksgiving day. Do what you can but remember to stop and enjoy the time with your family and friends to remember all of the blessings that God has given us!
Staying with your “Morning Routine” is so important during stressful times. Need a reminder on your morning routine? Click here to reread the post on setting your personal routine.

Christmas is the season to Remember the Reason for the Season- The birth of our Lord and Savior. But Thanksgiving is the time to really count our blessings and Thank God because those blessings came from God.
Let’s pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, We ask you today to help us slow down and focus on all of the blessings that you have given us.
Thank you for The people we love, the ones with us but also those who can’t be with us.
Thank you for The material things that many say are unimportant but you blessed us with them, a place to lay our heads, food to nourish our bodies.
Thank you for blessing us with another day to serve you and your children.
Thank you for always being with us, through the ups and downs of our days and lives.
Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to walk this earth and forgive our sins.
Thank you for the gift of prayer. Being able to have a little talk with you is the best gift ever while walking on this earth! Of course, the gift of salvation is up there too!
Please emphasis your love and peace to us during these stressful times.
In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen!
