In response to our previous post “2024 The year to treat others as Christ Jesus treats us” ,it has been mentioned that we don’t always have a friend or real friends in our lives.
During many phases of our lives, we may be without a true friend due to placing trust in someone who let us down, who we let down , employment changes, moves, divorces, or other life situations.
I have been in that situation before, where I wished that I had someone that I could speak with, do something with, chat with or just joke around with. Things I did that may help you in making a new friend.
To make a friend in 2024 , We need to:
* Open ourselves up to making friends. Look for a friend possibility.
* You have to commit yourself to that relationship, in some ways. Time, energy and forgiveness. They will make mistakes, so will you.
*Friendships or BFF relationships take time. You have to be willing to give of your time to make it work.
*You have to give and not just expect to receive.
*Remember no one is going to be exactly like you. Do you really want someone exactly like you or just similar? Yeah similar.
Yes, We definitely always have our Lord and Savior that We can talk things over with but having a friend or a friend who can turn into a BFF relationship may enhance our life. What can we do to get a closer friend?
First of all, pray for one. There is nothing wrong with that. Our Lord wants us to have comfort and happiness with others too. I did this at one time in my life where I lost my BFF due to life changes.
Other suggestions may be:
Look at your co-workers, family friends, family members, or neighbors, perhaps your next BFF is within arms length now.
Follow your interests. If you like walking, hiking, cooking, whatever your interest are look for a group of people with similar interests.
Co-workers are a possibility. You may spend time with them and know or can listen to find out their interests.
People who are members of associations or church may be an ideal possibility.
Usually we have to get out to meet people. Yes, there are some of us who work at home, live at home and don’t want to get out. That situation may make making friends harder but not impossible.
You can get a new friend during 2024 if you really want to get one or perhaps multiple friends. Reach out and make a friend today, this weekend, over the new year celebrations, in 2024!
