May Christ shine in you and from you!

Where I Feel Closest to God

Living in the mountains of western North Carolina offers a serene refuge where I can connect with nature and feel the presence of Our Heavenly God. Sitting on a blanket outside our home, surrounded by the breathtaking mountain views, the melodious songs of birds, and the sight of squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, deer, coyotes, and even bears, I am captivated by the beauty and grandeur of creation. This is my special place with God! Warning, you may experience a personal connection with some of God’s beauty. I have had several squirrels and rabbits visit with me and my blanket. You don’t want the bears or coyotes to visit, I wouldn’t think. haha

Where is your special place?

Where do you find the closeness of God? Where is your perfect prayer place? Is it a particular state or city, Is it an area in your home that instantly connects you to a personal conversation with God?

What do you surround yourself with? A bible, a prayer shawl, beads, candles, pillows? I take my bible and sometimes a warm blanket depending on the season. In the winter time, I have a rocking chair placed by a window in my guest room. I have the prayer shawl and my devotional and bible. I have to enjoy God’s beautiful creation of birds, animals, mountain views, clouds regardless of which location I am in that day! God truly is an artist!

What surrounds you during the most personal prayer?
