A humble woman prays

Planning to go to the store now to get the card, the candy, sexy nightgown, the what-ever? First of all, Do it today instead of tomorrow. But better yet do something outside of the box. Think of some other ways to celebrate your valentine.

Valentine’s Day Shopping is expected to hit $26 billion this year. You can buy that box of candy, the flowers and the card but if you really want to touch her heart, step outside of the box. Make her feel special without breaking the bank!

1. Write one of the first moments that your heart tugged and you knew they were the one that you wanted to be with. Or include what it is that stills makes your heart sing. Explain that look that grabs you. The way they walk, or talk, swing their hair, sing around the house, or whatever it is that makes them your valentine everyday of the year.
2. Find your favorite love poem that matches the love you have for them. Print it on a nice piece of paper and get a frame so they will be reminded that they are special. My husband did this and I still stop and read it because “The words match the way I feel!”
3. Do you and your Valentine have a regular “Date Night”? Make a vow or coupon to do a “Date Night” every month. This is where you think of a date that will wow them. Like you did when you were courting. It can be a night at home but pick up dinner, plan (Yes you need to plan the date night) what movie to watch or songs to play as you dance in the living room or kitchen.
4. Give her time to relax and be pampered. Run a bubble bath for her. Lay rose petal (real or paper that you cut out). Play her favorite music. Rub her shoulders for a few minutes then tell her that you love her. (Don’t jump in the tub with her, that isn’t what this is about. You are making her special.)
