Weekends are great.
It can be your time to get caught up on errands. That feels good!
You may have reorganized an area of your house.
You may have spent time with family or friends.
You may have totally relaxed. Binged out!
You may have shopped till you drop!
Your weekend, My weekend, Their weekend
The weekend for everyone is not Saturday and Sunday. The world keeps turning because others are working on the weekend. They check you out at the store. Put salt on the roads to keep you and others safe. Workers in restaurants let us have good food and times with our loved ones. Workers and nurses and doctors keep the hospitals open to care for the patients including the Emergency Room. And many other people work on the weekends. Do you know of someone who works on Saturday and/or Sundays to keep the rest of us enjoying life? Is it You?
I would be amiss if I didn’t point out that quite a few clergy , choir members, Sunday School Teachers and other faith workers work on Saturday and/or Sundays too. (And during the week)

According to the Labor Department the numbers are higher than I realized.
Percent of employed people who worked by day of week, 2022 annual averages
| Status | Percent who worked, weekday | Percent who worked, weekend day |
|---|---|---|
| Total | 81.3% | 29.4% |
| Full-time workers | 87.4% | 28.7% |
| Part-time workers | 57.3% | 31.9% |
| Single jobholders | 80.3% | 26.9% |

We may need to thank others for helping in our “Best Moment of our Weekend”.
So here is a shoutout to ALL of the “Saturday or Sunday” workers, who keep the world spinning and thriving while most are having time off! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
Lord, Bless the individuals who are taking care of the rest of us on the weekends. Keep them safe, healthy and knowing that we appreciate them all! In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
