Spring is showing some signs. Is it time to clean?

Spring Cleaning includes: Reseal grout lines? Have you ever done this. I wonder if you use those long tube thingamajigs with the trigger that we have seen on HGTV programs? I think you do but I have never! Have you?

We are seeing some little buds popping out here in the Asheville NC area. Looking out the window this mornings shows it raining in these mountains , with a squirrel running up the tree and raindrops falling off of the arbor. So does that mean it’s time to clean?

But girlfriends, I have to be honest with you, I don’t clean my house from top to bottom when spring comes to town. Yes, it feels good to freshen up an area of our home that seems to have been ignored during the dark winter months but the whole house?? My baseboards probably could benefit and the spiderwebs in the corners can come down but does my house really need it? Does yours?

Are you a Spring Cleaner? Do you get enjoyment from deep cleaning your house? Go for it Sisters and Brothers!

You enjoy it, what am I missing? What does Spring Cleaning involve? Let’s see!

Turn up the sound!

So I started looking for a checklist for Spring Cleaners. I ran across the name Martha Stewart with an article on A Spring Cleaning Checklist. Go to the expert right?

I should have known the first thing on her list is the baseboards! Her article explains on this task: “Baseboards can be easily cleaned with a vacuum with a bristled brush hose attachment to remove any dust; then, wipe them down with a damp microfiber cloth and all-purpose cleaner.”

Of course if that seems too much, I saw a Facebook reel showing to add baking soda and water, dip your mop in the mixture and drag it along the baseboards. Easy as Pie for those who skim the spring cleaning fun!

So I go on down the list, dusting. Well I dust, vacuum and mop, even in the winter because to be honest:

  • We have Peggy Sue. A Dachshund that was my Mom’s four legged baby and when we lost Mom, Peggy Sue came to live with us. She is an elderly lady and she scratches so dander flies around.
  • Like Miss Peggy Sue I have allergies so I have to stay on top of the dusting, vacuuming and mopping.
  • We live on top of a mountain in the western North Carolina Mountains so we get all kind of friends on the bottom of our shoes and Peggy Sue’s paws.

So I already have 3 things on the checklist taken care of! Yeah! That is almost half the list. Well not half of Martha’s list. It gets pretty deep friends.

Wipe the walls. I go that with my dust mop several times during the year. (Yep allergies)

Reseal grout lines? Have you ever done this. I wonder if you use those long tube thingamajigs with the trigger that we have seen on HGTV programs? I think you do but I have never! Have you?

Alright if you want to have some fun girls or guys (guys like deep cleaning too!) below is the list from Martha Stewart on what to clean and a list for each room. Have fun!
