Look what I found on this mountain!

While living on this western North Carolina mountain, we have enjoyed so many of God’s creatures. Bears, coyotes, turkeys, bobcats, foxes, panthers ( I know the experts say they aren’t here but all of the people from this area know that they are here), squirrels, rabbits all kinds of birds, and so many other animals.

But coming home from church yesterday, I was driving up our gravel/dirt mountain road, almost to the top when I saw out of the corner of my eyes, something new. Another of God’s beautiful creations! I had to get to the top of our road and stop on our driveway to stop my car and park. (You don’t want to stop on our road. If you stop you may not be able to start back up. You will have to back up all the way down. Don’t forget that on one side of the 8 foot wide dirt/gravel road is a ditch and the other side is the drop off way down. You don’t want to go that way. 🙂 Of course if youins are going up and another car is coming down. You have to back all the way down. That is the mountain rules. Might not apply in your neck of the woods.

Anyway, I was so excited to see this new creation! You may think what is all of the excitement about? I am always pulled closer to God by enjoying God’s creatures. And I think it depends on what you are used to seeing in your area. I constantly enjoy sitting on the porch or looking out my home office window to observe birds fluttering around, talking to each others. We see multiple bears, coyotes, turkeys, etc up here on the mountain every year.

OH by the way, the other day, I was driving down 240, the bypass of Asheville NC, and had to swerve to the left. A bear decided to cross the busy road. I quickly looked to my left and started over to miss the bear. Other cars behind me were far enough behind me to see what I just missed. I must have startled the bear, he turned and went back to safety. Of course the truth be known, my plea “Father please” took care of the situation.

We have so many true adventures with animals up here. I will share more along the way. Life is good in western North Carolina!

Back to the new blessing… I parked and got out of my car. I walked down the mountain road to see close up of this creature.

This is what I thanked God for yesterday. Can you see it? I am not the best photographer in the word.

I have never seen a turtle up here before. Where did it come from? We don’t have creeks or bodies of water up here. Half our property butts up to the Blue Ridge Parkway so seeing wildlife is expected but this fella was coming from down the mountain.

Animals are such a blessing for me.

What animals do you see in your neck of the woods? I would love to know. Thanks!

Let us pray..

Dear Father, Thank you for the animals that you have blessed our lives with. You truly are a majestic artist! In Jesus name we praise you and thank you. amen
