The temperatures here in the WNC mountains has been touching 90 plus.
I know many of you have had hotter temps than that but hey. We are mountain people!
Sitting in church, have I mentioned no air condition in the sanctuary, it has been so very hot.
One day , I was sitting towards the front and got so hot it triggered a hot flash. FYI- hot flashes reduce in number but they never go away for good.
So there I sat burning up, took off my shoes to feel the cooler wood floor and even pressed my arms against the sides and back of the pews. It helped a tad but my face was still blood red. After the service was over, friends walked up to me and asked if I was okay. They still talk about it weeks later. “Leslie’s face was so red. I thought she was going to die!” Yeah, the thought crossed my mind too.
But a friend made a suggestion. “Put your hair up in a bun.” I don’t like the way I look in a bun. In fact, I have never worn a bun before but a hot flash, in a church closing in on 100 degrees, makes you do what ya gotta do.
I have started wearing my hair up in a bun. It has made the temps bearable or at least better. I still don’t like the way I look with it but I didn’t look that great with a red face, sweat pouring down my face while standing in front of the church either.
Curious- What has a hot flash caused you to do?
I remember seeing Clair on the Cosby Show sticking her head in a freezer. ( If I had had one….)
What has hot flashes caused you or a friend to do???Help!
