Early this morning, I was driving my granddaughter to her summer activity. As we were waiting for the activity to start, we had some one on one time sitting in the car. We talked about Stephen King, Ginger’s Revenge (neither of us knew what it was), bike riders, her weekend, how lucky I was to have time with her, and more. No, it may not be earth shattering but it was precious time.
We got to bond while also showing a preteen (13 year old) that I appreciated having her to myself. Confirming that she is valuable and appreciated.
Before a blink of an eye, she will be busy driving herself and spending time with others. Some may reassure her importance but others may hurt her feelings and self-worth. Let’s build them up now to able to handle the downs of teenage life (and adulthood?)

Let us pray...
We praise you God! You made each of us in your image. You gave us gifts and talents that are worth more than silver and gold! We are priceless in your eyes Father. In Jesus name we pray this prayer of gratitude. amen.
