A humble woman prays

Being prepared made a huge difference yesterday for me. I mean 1 out of 100 difference. Let me explain…

My driver’s license is expiring in a few weeks. And living in the Western North Carolina still causes hardships.

The driver’s license office,which is normally busy, is now extremely busy with some locations closed or reduced hours.

NC driver’s license does allow online appointment setting. Unfortunately it is extremely hard to find an opening.

I started looking in November to schedule an appointment. They had no appointment times open for the 3 month calendar. Finally the end of January at 5am, I went to their site and there was one opening for March 28 at 7am. I grabbed it! After having to respond to a text message sent immediately scheduling and another text and response need 4 days before the appointment. No response with 30 minutes means appointment canceled.

I did the jumping through hoops and arrived yesterday at 6:30am. There was already a line starting at the door and swirling around the corner of the building. 47 people in line. The first man in line arrived at 4am with others following suite.

I had nice conversations with the folks in line. I am glad, I did!

An officer came out and announced, anyone with an appointment, come to the door. I couldn’t hear him. But folks in the long line, about 100 now passed the message back! WNC People are great! There are a lot of great folks everywhere! I must admit I felt awkward walking past so many good people in that line. They were nice and smiled at me. You see out of the 100 people in line yesterday morning, I was the only one with an appointment. Boy, I am glad that I kept looking for an opening. It was my responsibility to get it done!

Dear Father, Remind us that procrastination causes many problems. If we take care of issues immediately, we have more time and less stress in life. amen
