As we remember today is Good Friday. The day that we, Christians, commemorate the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior. While we also remember the man who betrayed Jesus even though Jesus loved him like family, a dear friend, a disciple. Can we still love Judas? Even though he made a huge mistake. Huge. But because of Judas’s mistake, we received the gift of salvation from God! Can we?
Loving your family and friends is usually easy, yes not always but usually. What about your enemies? Those people who hurt you, own purpose. Spread lies behind your back. Those people who would sell you out for 30 pieces of silver. Can I love them like Jesus?
I am talking about really loving them. Not just talk the talk but really walk the walk. Deep in your heart forgive them AND love them. Can you Love like Jesus?

Do you remember seeing the picture of the last supper hanging on a wall? Look at it again now. Jesus knew that he was feet away from the man that would betray him to the authorities, that would nail him on a cross, with big nails hammered into his hands and feet. The same hands that fed Judas and washed the feet of Judas, would have large nails hammered into them.
Can we Love like Jesus? Can you? Can I?

Let us pray….
Dear God, Please help us see with the same heart, eyes and understanding that your son used when feeding and washing the feet of his betrayer Judas. Yes you knew that it had to be done. There was a reason, our salvation! But still the pain, the betrayal , the death were suffered by a human. And yet, Our Lord’s heart, eyes and nailed hands still loved Judas. As Christ’s side was pierced, Christ still loved Judas. As Judas took his own life, Christ still loved Judas. Please help us see with the same heart, eyes and understanding of your son. We ask in the name of your son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN.
