I remember hearing my Mother saying time just flies. Yes, I was a child and did not agree. When I had to wait to go outside or anywhere that I wanted to go, the time crept by. Or while sitting in class those last 4 minutes, magic happened, the clock just stopped like forever, it seemed.

This past week, I thought life would slow down after the holidays. After the Advent activities, Two services on Christmas Eve, all the Christmas parties plus shopping cooking and cleaning were over, I thought things would slow down but no .
Time is still flying due to the last day of 2023 and it’s service, party , etc. And then catching up at the church office, visiting church family members who have COVID, the flu , B around here, strep throat and other illness and health problems plus our own precious family, and let’s not forget about returning the church and all of the areas being returned to normal from the Advent trimmings.

And now that Epiphany of the Lord is tomorrow the 6th, my Christmas decorations at home need to come down. Old Christmas anyone? I think that is Sunday but don’t hold me to it. Do you know when Old Christmas is this 2024?
Maybe next week will slow down! NO, NO, NO. Next week is prepping for regular church activities and then The Martin Luther King Celebration on the 14th and 15th.
I guess I just need to be quiet. You see my Mom also told me ” Never wish time away.

So I am going to be quiet after I say, Good night, Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite.
Our childhood prays…
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take. God bless Mommy, Daddy, my sister, my brother, my dog and …….. Amen!
My Mom taught me that too. What did your Mom teach you when you were little and it is still fresh in your memory?
